Talk by Amanda Hepburn: 1825, George Stephenson's Stockton to Darlington Railway. 

 

Two hundred years ago a very special railway was opened between Shildon and Stockton via Darlington, bringing together a dedicated team of businessmen and engineers with great vision. In this talk Amanda Hepburn presents the story of how they created this railway which changed the world of trade, communication and travel.
