Each organisation is committed to celebrating the story of the Stockton and Darlington Railway (S&DR) and ensuring its legacy beyond the 200th anniversary in 2025. Our partner list continues to grow.
We have a series of packages suitable for corporate sponsorship. If you are interested in hearing more about partnering with S&DR200 Festival, please email info@sdr200.co.uk

From 2023 to 2026 we will invest over £467 million of public money from Government and an estimated £250 million from The National Lottery each year to help support the sector and to deliver this vision.
This year the National Lottery will celebrate 30 years of supporting good causes in the United Kingdom through raising £49 billion and awarding over 690,000 individual grants since the first draw was held in 1994.

Railway 200
Railway 200
Railway 200 will be running a year-long campaign in 2025 packed with events, activities, and other initiatives, delivered by a host of people and organisations around the UK.
In 2025, Railway 200 celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway. It showcases the role of rail in shaping Britain and the world. It also aims to inspire the next generation of pioneering talent to choose a career in rail, as the industry delivers a simpler, better railway for everyone.
On 27 September 1825, George Stephenson's Locomotion No.1 was the first train to travel on the Stockton and Darlington Railway. This historic event was celebrated with great fanfare and is widely regarded as the start of the modern railway.
